DocLayer stores, versions and security-scans the files behind each transaction — in storage you choose — and opens them right on the record, with access set by the NetSuite roles you already manage.
DocLayer is in limited rollout. General customer SuiteApp installation isn’t open yet — “Start setup” explains the prerequisites and prepares your account.

Business users — open files from the record
Open a saved Vendor Bill in NetSuite and use its DocLayer Documents subtab. If the embedded view can’t load, open the same record workspace in a new window. There’s no separate DocLayer password — your NetSuite account, environment and role decide what you can see and do.
Where to find DocLayer in NetSuite ›Files — search across your records
Sign in with your NetSuite account and environment to find files attached to records you can access. Files must be enabled for your role. Authorized administrators can also open Administration to manage setup, storage, permissions and health checks.
Sign in ›DocLayer never asks for your NetSuite password. Sign-in happens on NetSuite. Your enabled role controls file access; Administration is available only to authorized administrators.
What DocLayer handles
One workspace per recordUpload, preview and download documents in the context of a single NetSuite record. Nothing leaks across records.
Immutable versions & activityEvery new version is kept. History and activity are read-only, and deleted documents can be restored from the record’s trash.
Storage you chooseDocLayer-managed storage, or your own Amazon S3 or Cloudflare R2 bucket.
Verified and scannedFiles are verified and security-scanned before anyone can preview or download them.
